Welcome! This is a website that everyone can build together. It's easy!

The Chainmaille Book v1.0This is a featured page

A wiki and a work in progress...

Created by Craftsmen and women from the forums Maille Artisans International League , aka M.A.I.L.. Purpose? We hope to make available a convenient and easy way to not only view the informative, instructional and educational content here, but to also be able to print out as few or as many of the pages saved to PDF and .doc files, located at the bottom of each page. All content on this site is intended for personal use, and may NOT be sold or purchased in any form by anyone, anywhere, anytime, period. It may be used for personal educational programs, but not copied, used or sold in any other fashion. © The 2009 Chainmaille Book Project

Who? We are a group of volunteers, of varying skills and motivation, who generally like to make things, shiny rings being our media, basically. This is an educational venture, that comes from a desire to share and teach others the Art of Maille. It should also be said up front, that none of this would be possible without all the generous contributions, of time, inventiveness and images made by many, many, individuals, to the ever growing collection of data and information at MAIL. All of the content here is being written by members of that community, and as a matter of course, in an effort to achieve the integrety that Maille Artisans.org enjoys, we will make an attempt to employ the same tenants and policies put down in their Charter.

~ Welcome all ~ This is a wiki setup, so sign in and start learning/playing with the features. The main Wetpaint site has a bunch of helpful tips, guilds and ideas. Under Brainstorming, there is now a place, Save/Practice Pages, for each member to create a page of your own, to experiment and/or save material, whatever you'd like to use it for.

~ Register ~ The site is now semi-locked. You will need to register, create an account, and then you'll be able to post messages and take part in Discussion. If you'd like to apply to be a writer, just click the button up left there. This needed to be done to give mod privileges to everyone. All members can now do pretty much everything there is to do, except delete the account/site, and I'll keep that one. Members should send invitations to anyone they think may be interested.

Suggestions, comments, ideas for how to organize this, speak up, it's our site to mess with, anything can be fixed, go for it....forums are at the bottom of each page. Use the Discussion Forum tab at the top to see all current discussions, and the Updates tab to get a quick look at new content or posts. I'm hoping some of the others that expressed interest will at least take a look. This list includes MaxumX, Azrenn, Lickin_Flames, Zjef? Looking back to 2006, Druid Queen, BladeMaster-Raven, zilla, were chiming in at times....
**note; every time this kind of a project has been started, it's been derailed, for one reason or another, usually personality conflicts, competition or the different vision each has for the project. It seems to be rolling along pretty smoothly, and it seems we're a fairly amiable bunch. I'll be making a page devoted to MAIL, it's Charter, and how we must and will make every attempt to stay in keeping with general mission of this/our community, and that is to be a sharing/teaching/learning community. I've said it in a few other places, but again, communication is key. And you may get tired of me stressing that concept. Thanks all.K-
